Sonatina by Alexander von Kreisler is a fascinating solo with the first movement highlighting the perfect fourth (P4) interval and switching between the 3/4 and the 2/4 meters quite often. The second movement is much slower and focuses on a lyrical melody in a 3/4 time signature. “Presto” is marked in the final movement and certainly contains a fast, technical flair with the dotted half-note at 100 beats per minute (bpm) and half note at 84 bpm. While all three movements do not contain any key signatures, many accidentals are notated in this piece which can become challenging for the soloist.
