Bach’s Patron of the Wind comes from one of his secular cantatas Phoebus and Pan. In this short work, the soloist primarily plays eighth notes with a couple of measures of sixteenth notes. The work can be deceiving with tempo as it is played with a brisk tempo. However, it can also be played slower than the suggested tempo of 110 bpm. The 32nd notes near the end are more of an ornament, even though they are written out. Range should not be an issue in the solo as the marked G4 is only a 32nd note. Be aware of the D.C. al Fine to then see where the solo is finished.
