Hasse Suite by Johann Adolph Hasse

The “Hasse Suite” by Johann Adolph Hasse contains three movements (“Passepied”, “Arietta,” and “March”). Written in the Baroque Era, the first movement is in 3/4 with a dance-like melody that is in AABA form. The second movement “Aria” moves to C minor, also in 3/4, with a much slower tempo and contains sixteenth notes as well as syncopation. The third movement is brisk with a march-like tempo that reaches G4. This movement will challenge the student to play quick and technical with accurate precision in the higher register.
